Referandum 1..Yes?...No?... I don't know!!!
Well Scott wanted us to post a comment... I thought that I would just post, because I can. I have been a bit confused on how to vote on this... I have a degree in education and most on my friends that I went to school with that are now teaching are totally against it. Then on the other hand, I have heard so many good things about it that I became confused. So I think that I have made a decision, I am for Referandum 1 and here is why...
I think that this is a great way to help those students who need the extra "umph" that a private school can give them. Most teachers know that the trouble makers in the class are usually the smartest kids and they cause trouble because they are bored, they already know what the teacher is telling them. So to be able to go to a different school that will be more advanced for them is great!! Also, I think that it is great that the parents can be more involved and more aware of their childs' education because they actually have a choice. I also like it because the money that will be give in voucher form is based on income, so if you make a lot of money, then you won't get as much money as someone who doesn't make as much... does that make sense??
Now I don't think that everyone should be running out to get vouchers and change school and I don't think that they will, but I do think that if the situation of a child is in need of something like this that it is a great option for the parents. Then when students do use their vouchers, I think that it would be a plus for teachers because their class size goes down and haven't they been complaining about that for years... that is why we keep building bigger, better schools and they just can't keep up.
This is my opinion and I know some of my facts aren't exact, but they are true. And why not vote for it, try it and if we don't like it get rid of it... but who knows it might be the best thing to have happened with education!

I am strongly apposed to ref 1. I am however on board for ref 2 which gives us as parents the ability to choose what our kids will eat for school lunch, and give us the option to attend said school lunch on mac and cheese day. By the way our country is being neutered by people who want all things equal...just saying. "there's nothing as unequal as treating unequals as equal."
Kia Ora: All the parties that have commented that have relatives in New Zealand are hereby required to send one kind email to every person on this blog that you are related to. We learned that from watching Bambi. "If you can't say sumpin nice, don't day notin at all". We want everyone to still be giving each other hugs and kisses when we come home. Actually we just want to see Kylee and Dylan in halloween costumes which we have not see yet. G-Day mate, and have a great Guy Fox day which is Nov. 5th. Dad and Mom
Referendum 1 is the first great step to cripple the corrupt and worthless education system that we foster in this state. Every industry that involves competition has increased the quality of itself. The socialist system that is currently set up will eventually fail as those who love freedom will reject it. I and my family will be voting for Referendum 1. However if it should not pass I will feel good knowing that I made the right decision for Utah's kids, and the next time it comes around maybe those that oppose freedom will repent, redeem themselves and make the right choice.
Miriam, come home the families falling apart.
